Which vehicles is the VSG24 CAMPER HD reversing system suitable for?

The CAMPER HD kit is designed as a retrofit solution for campers, motorhomes, campervans, and caravan setups. It helps when manoeuvring on campsites, in tight driveways, or when reversing into pitches by providing a clear rear view.

How good is the image quality, and what does 1080P mean in real use?

Both monitor and camera operate in Full HD at 1920 x 1080, so you can see edges, obstacles, and people more clearly than with standard systems. This makes manoeuvring calmer because details like bollards, curbs, or bike racks are easier to spot.

How well does night vision work on a campsite?

The camera uses 18 infrared LEDs to provide a clear image in darkness. This is especially helpful on unlit pitches, when arriving late, or when backing into a tight camping spot at night.

Is the camera weatherproof for year-round use?

Yes, the camera is specified as IP68, meaning it is protected against water, dust, and dirt. This is ideal for travel vehicles used in rain, on gravel roads, or during winter because the camera stays mounted outside permanently.

Can I connect a second camera, and what is the benefit of split-screen on a trip?

Yes, the monitor has two video inputs, allowing you to add a second camera, for example at the front or side. Split-screen lets you view both feeds at once, which helps when manoeuvring with a trailer, parking in tight spaces, or monitoring the area around your pitch.

Can the monitor switch automatically when I engage reverse?

Yes. With the trigger function connected to the reverse light circuit, the monitor can switch automatically to the rear camera when reverse is selected. This is convenient when manoeuvring in tight camping situations.

How does recording work, and what SD card do I need?

The monitor can record in loop mode once an SD card is inserted. It supports a Class 10 SD card up to 128 GB, which is not included. Loop recording means older files are overwritten automatically when the card is full, keeping recording available without manual cleanup.

Is the 120° viewing angle too wide or just right for campers?

The 120° angle is chosen to give strong rear coverage without heavy distortion. This is helpful on motorhomes with bike racks or caravan setups, because you see more to the sides while still judging distance reliably.

Is it easy to use for beginners and are the menus clear?

Yes. The system is designed as a camper-friendly retrofit and is intended to be intuitive. The monitor provides clear menus and quick-access functions so you gain safety without dealing with complicated setup.

How is the system installed, and is the 20 m extension cable enough for a motorhome?

The monitor mounts in the front cabin and the camera at the rear, connected using the included 20 m extension cable. Whether 20 m is enough depends on your vehicle and routing, but it typically fits most motorhomes. Planning the cable path and allowing some slack for pass-through points is recommended.

What is the 4-pin connector for, and when do I need the RCA cable included?

The camera connects to the monitor via the 4-pin system connector, which carries power and video. The included RCA cable is useful if you want to connect an additional camera that has a Cinch/RCA output so it can be used on one of the video inputs.

Can I use the system as a rear-view aid if rear visibility is limited?

Yes. Many camper owners use a reversing camera system as an additional rear-view aid when rear windows are blocked or racks and bodywork reduce visibility. The clear HD image helps you monitor the area behind the vehicle, improving safety beyond just parking.
